This is an intriguing wine made from a grape that can often be very neutral. The fruit character here is indeed rather on the neutral side, showing green apple, lemon zest, and a touch of apricot/nectarine, but it is the stony, savoury, and herbal aspects of this wine that dominate and provide interest. There are notes of crushed stone, honeysuckle, sage, tarragon, white pepper, as well as some nutty, biscuity character that joins in on the palate. This wine is dry, medium-bodied, and has moderate acidity. The alcohol is a bit warm (13.8%). The length is quite good. Tasted Apr. 2017.
