I like Michael's interpretation here...."how the Rhone can show up in a Barossa body". That pretty much sums up this wine. More aligned with the South Rhone thant Barossa, this is a ripe, but balance GSM blend, with none of the off-putting (for me) excesses for many Barossas. Plenty of red (strawberry fruit), along with herbs and a hint of pepper. A nice bit of restraint shown here, this is fine stuff indeed. I suppose that this is the new Australia and I applaud that! Picked up for about $16 on sale. Tasted Sep 2018.
Easy drinking red with leather on the nose and ripe, juicy strawberries on the palate-almost sweet to begin. A touch of herbal notes mid palate and soft tannins to finish.
