A decent aged Brouilly that is in its prime drinking window. Medium aromatic intensity with cherry and red berry fruit, licorice and cinnamon. Medium body with fully resolved tannin and medium acidity. A savoury somewhat bitter finish. Good to very good length. Dec. 2016.
Youthful (despite its age) nose of Bing cherry, cranberry, white pepper.
On the palate, dry, fairly well balanced, lighter-bodied wine. Tart & Bing cherry, raspberry, savoury notes and a metallic finish.
This is drinking well now (October 2016); I think it's about at its ageing limit.
