Nose: So pretty. It opens with super strawberry, red cherry notes that evolve into a more tomato-y aroma. It’s really floral, with some mineral herbaceousness.
Palate: That tomato thing again. It’s a savoury herbal fruit salad, like when you throw cherries into your summer salads. With a salty minerality and black olive twist, because this is Greece. There’s also some fennel alongside those red fruits, maybe a touch of beet root, all mixed together in a delightful bath of pleasant acidity and plush tannins.

Cherry dominated with savory notes, fruit is pure and non fruit character adds old world charm, this is not pretentious and authentic.

Pale, translucent red. This Xinomavro has tart red fruits (think sour cherries, cranberries) and brisk acidity. Seemed a bit simple at first but developed up nicely after several minutes. Reminds me of Chianti or Barbera. Would be a lovely match to pizza or tomato-based dishes. Put in the fridge for 45 minutes before serving. Tasted Nov 2017.
