This is a wonderfully balanced wine with suave tannins. Packed with blueberry, vanilla and smokey dark roast coffee. Medium weight. Super super fine tannins make a sandpaper finish.
This is definitely not for everyone (McManus lovers stay away), but if you give this wine some time it is a delectable taste experience. The fruit along with its dry character is so appealing. This wine is definitely worthy of a multiple purchase.
Went well with veal parm/red sauce. Next time will pair with a lamb dish.
Forgot I had this guy in the cellar, what a wonderful suprise!!! Fruity, dry with excellent lenght.

A very powerful, deep wine with a long finish. The flavour profile is full of cassis and tart red/black fruits (raspberries and blackberries) with a long, dry finish. What was missing is the rustic, cedar quality that brings me back to Italian wines again and again. Definitely something to start a conversation, and it did pair extremely well with wild game (venison).
Purple-red, hint of brown. Very ripe plummy dark fruit, chocolate, graphite, spice. Extracted and rich with some youthful raggedy tannin but pretty good depth and savour. Will likely improve.
This Aglianico blend opens with a blast of dark berries and other dark fruit, led by Cab-based cassis, but then turns overly tart, cranberry-pomegranate on the nose and excessive acidity on the palate. But then, stability, the fruit achieving balance, supported by earthy, spicy, and herbal notes. Given the fruit depth, high acidity, and prominent tannins, this would benefit from further aging and softening, but, even now, what really stands out is the wonderful, characteristically southern Italian metallic iron streak that acts as the true backbone of this enormously appealing "Super Puglian."
