A very easy drinking, moderately weighted wine with ripe red fruit flavours. Excellent for the price with good length. Paired well with pasta.

A reasonably deep punt is a good indication of a reasonable decent wine and this little Portuguese cracker does not disappoint. Perhaps not as smooth as the bonnet of a Porsche neither is it as rough as gearchange in a 1967 Hillman Hunte Mk II (1725cc with manual transmission). A memorable bottle with a whimsical label; lets get another bottle.

Easy, approachable every day wine for simple cuisine or just sipping while forgetting about work. And won't break the bank. Very good value indeed. Tasted Nov 2016.

This Aragonez-Castelão-Touriga Nacional blend from north of Lisbon comes across at first like decent Merlot, with its softness, sweetness, juiciness, and aromatic abundance of red and darker berries, cherries, and other dark fruit, though time brings complexity with vague floral and herbal elements along with leather and Syrah-like meaty and peppery notes. But the bold flavours are muddled, the combination rough and brooding, with a tinny metallic note, and it needs some acidity to pull it up out of the morass. Still, exceptional value for a serious, intriguing, and versatile wine.
