This red blend from the Douro is superb value. Good intensity of aromas and depth and concentraion of dark fruit, supported by judicious oak, good acidity, mild tannin and slight alcohol heat. Balanced with some complexity, purity of fruit, depth and excellent length bumps this inexpensive wine into the 90 point range in my view. Definitely a multi-bottle purchase. Oct. 2016.

Serious value for money. Great fruit unadulterated by oak or sugar enhancements that you typically find at this price. Structure and depth are solid, soft tannins and mouthfeel ... quaff-able.

Great expression of the Douro here. The fine dark fruit is enhanced with herbal notes but thankfully not abused by any significant oak that I can detect. A nice lingering finish with a bit of tart acidity. At $14, worth getting a few bottles for sure. One of the best values this year at Vintages. Tasted Oct 2016.
