2013 is the best vintage yet for this classic elegant Chilean cabernet. The unnecessarily heavy bottle still upsets...

Inviting, fragrant, open nose of mint, resin and red fruit. The attack is dense but the tannins sweet and round. The...

This is an impressive, big, dense and quite rich cabernet - only missing a 90 score for the touch of oxidation. It...

Fruit forward in the modern style with good cabernet typicity of cassis, black berry and slightly pruned fruit and mint. Oak is in check offering supporting flavours of vanilin and pencil shavings. A meaty flavour adds to the complexity. While tannins are mild, structure is achieved by juicy acidity providing balance to the fruit. All that plus very good length all combine to bump this cab into the excellent scoring range. A terrific bargain at its regular price, but with the current $3 discount at the LCBO, it's a steal. July 2016.

Lots of flavour, but it has a bit of harshness. Using the carafe did not help much. It is no better than we can grow in Ontario.

Interesting & smooth

Description: Opaque ruby in colour with an intense nose. Primary features are cedar, blackcurrant & eucalyptus followed by blackberry, cassis, granite, cocoa, turmeric, leather and fresh cut carnations on the nose. Full body with medium to medium+ tannins, good acidity and a long length.

Negatives: none

Drink now or in the next 5 years on its own or pair it with Dry Aged Rib Eye with Red Wine Demi Glaze.

This wine was a disappointment. Although it had a pleasant aroma with red fruits and earth, the wine was thin and acidic and did not have as long a finish as desired. We did drink this wine on its own, and with the bright acidic profile it has, it would have paired much better with food.
