Mostly Cab Sauv (45%), Merlot (28%) , and Cab Franc (21%), this has medium+ intensity aromas moving towards savoury notes, but also still offers red & black fruits, currant, mint and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-full bodied with softening tannins and very good acidity. It shows some maturity with dried floral and currant flavours on the palate. Finish length is very good. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years. Last tasted Sept/2016.
A quality Ontario wine for under $20
Description: Dark ruby in colour with an intense nose. A fairly complex wine featuring cedar, black & red currants, black raspberry, cloves, cinnamon, dried herbs, mint, cassis, smoked Montreal meat, black pepper, leather and tomato leaves. Medium body with dry tannins, good acidity and a long length.
Negatives: None
Interesting Note: This shows the world that Ontario red wines can be of good quality at a reasonable price.
Drink now or in the next couple of years on its own or pair it with Lamb Chops in Moroccan BBQ Sauce.

Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine: 3.5+
I'll go with the consensus on this one. Benefits from a bit of decanting. Excellent with roast beef.
2nd bottle, months later. Love the energy level. Good acidity and layers of complexity from its different component parts. I've upped to score to 90 (from 89) as a result of this revisit. Both elegant and interesting.
