Riesling sparkling offers a much more fruit-forward profile, and Tawse's offering is a well-made example that delivers.

On the nose, several variety of apples mingle (golden delicious and green and Spartan), with subdued honeysuckle notes. Lime zest is there, and some fresh bread.

On the palate, nice zippy acidity, and follows through from the nose nicely. Lots of apple, some minerality on the finish, persistent medium-fine mousse. Nice long citrus finish.

With a bit of extra time in bottle, I find the fruit has integrated a bit more than the 2014.

Tasted February 2016.

Medium+ aromas of tart lime, citrus and stone notes. It's medium-bodied with just off-dry aroma replays and a chalky mineral texture that leads to a long, dry-ish finish. Juicy and refreshing. Tasted June/2015.

This doesn't have the balance or elegance of more prestigious (and expensive) counterparts, but it certainly brings the charm of a good dry Riesling and mixes it with coarse but refreshing fizz, presenting notes of lemon, grapefruit, citrus zest, Granny Smith apple, acacia honey, stony minerality, and a trace of biscuit in the background, along with tart, racy acidity, mouth-puckering dryness on the finish, and nice length overall. Maybe it's a touch too sharp, too acidic, and lacking in fruit complexity and non-fruit counter-balance, but it's hard to argue with what you get for the money.
