A lovely, juicy, zesty but plump and savoury agioritko from one of Greece's highest wineries, located in Metsovo,...

Agiorgitiko is one of Greece's best indigenous red grapes grown widely in the Peloponnese region. I have visited this...

For the money, this is an honest and lively, fruity and savoury, tidy little value from the Peloponnese. This is...

Easy drinking and certainly not unpleasant, but unremarkable in my view, even for this price. I found it quite flat in comparison to the "zesty" and "lively" descriptions shared by others.

My first experience with this varietal, I think. Attractive fruity nose with floral notes, but on the palate I found it very dry, even a bit austere. Food-friendly, but not a sipper. The price is reasonable, and the screwcap closure is a plus in my book, but overall I didn't find this wine as compelling as many others in its price range.

This is a wine that suits drinking with food, rather than sipping on its own. Aroma and taste has components of cherries with a subtle herbaceous quality. The overall profile was on the lighter side, with a good finish. A nice wine to try to say you've tried Greek wines.

Not particularly deep or exciting, I'm afraid. Simple black fruit, a bit hollow tasting and old coffee grounds. Little tannin. Short finish. Ok, but I had hoped for better. Not a repeat purchase for me. Tasted March 2014.
