Very nice wine, great value.
This wine was a bit of a surprise. I picked it up as a backup bottle for a dinner party where we only drank wine from Argentina, and it turned out to be the favourite wine of the night. The strong black pepper on the nose and the good finish stacked up very well against the more expensive bottles of Malbec served. A bargain at the price.
A straightforward, no nonsense wine. Ripe blackberry fruit, along with hints or herbeceousness and a bit of black pepper. Relatively low tannin and a hint of sweetness (9g/L), which is no surprise at the price point. Quite fairly price at $12. Crowd-pleaser for sure. tasted May 2015.
A good syrah, but I didn't find it overly memorable. I found it grew on me more with each glass. Was hoping this would be a stand out syrah like Trapiche's cabernet sauvignion, but was disappointed. I think the Cusumano is the better choice.
