Though the fruit is on a bit of a decline at this point and the aromatics are not all that high, this wine brings subtlety and nuance that are distinctly italian.Dark cherry and brambly fruit complement the savory character (meaty, woody, leather and a hint of earth) of this wine perfectly. The tannins have largely fallen by the wayside and the acidity is still kicking, making it a great complement to heavier tomato sauces red sauce cooked with meat.
