Just spent a lovely afternoon in our garden having lunch; quiche, salad, wonderful crusty bread, tomato, boccoccini, basil with olive oil and lots of fresh fruit......Our wine of choice.....a light, refreshing, delightful two bottles of Mateus rose......A perfect complement to our meal and day. Not overly alcoholic, refreshing, lively and uncomplicated. Just the way I want my summer days to be. So worth the price. Don't pay attention to the dorm room party reputation. It's beautiful and delightful for a hot summer's day. Doesn't hurt that the bottle is so old world and charming.

I have been drinking Mateus for years. I am of the opinion that it most assuredly has a place for any wine drinker. Frankly I can not imagine having Spcy Szechuan Beef or General Tao Chicken without Mateus. Wonderful chilled and perfect for summer afternoons.
