An old stalwart that I haven't tried in a while. Quite full bodied and tannic. Very dry. Nice finish. Good value.
The 2012 Vila Regia Reserva has appealing aromas of blackberry, black cherry and wood. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with good acidity, grippy tannins (decant for 15-30 min) and a medium finish. This is a food friendly wine that also can be sipped; drink now through 2018/20 (>4 cm cork enclosure). My impression: quite NICE, 87-88 pts – recommended for its value. Tasted in Sep/14.
