This is a mature Chianti with complexity on nose and palate but has spent a little too long in barrel and needs...

Tasted Feb 2012. Went beautifully with a filet mignon and grilled vegetables. Nice sour/tart cherry flavours with leather and spice. Excellent bottle of wine.

good wine, can be drunk now but best cellared for 8-10 years.

Cherryish, cinnamon, full bodied, slightly earthy and delicious. There is an amazing rack of lamb in my fridge that would go very well but this wine would also hold up nicely to a juicy steak.

It's only wine but I like it

Slighty sour red cherry along with earthy notes and bright acidity. Some firm tannin and quite a long finish. Perhaps a bit "old school" for some, but I really like the authenticity, especially in this age of homogeneity. Very nicely done. Drink now through to 2015, perhaps longer.

Tony Soprano's table wine.

Dark purple. Medium-full body. Fairly tight nose. Plenty of fruit, plenty of tannin and very (too?) woody. Very dry, a bit rustic. A masculine Chianti. A good table wine to go with a roast or a pile of hearty Italian food. This really should be $5 cheaper.

Developing nose of black licorice, cherry, and cedar. Palate is dry, with a firm acidity, fine tannin, and full body. A pleasing sour cherry predominates with the lingering licorice root note. Long length. Feb 2011
