Sadly, this was the last bottle of Lailey wine in our cellar, but it's a fitting finale to help recall the glory years when Derek Barnett was at the winemaking helm and at the top of his game. Just entering its prime with plenty of life still ahead, the wine is brimming with attractive dark fruit and spice, soft tannins, a lengthy finish, and excellent complexity overall.
Tasted the 2013 - Loads of smokey, hickory BBQ meats and ripe blueberries. Great mouth feel and finish.
Low-medium nose that shows blueberry and oak aromas which replay on the palate, along with pepper and herbal notes. It's medium-full bodied with good, balanced acids and a length finish. Tasted Nov/2013.
