Blackberries, spices, black pepper, and nuttiness on the nose. The wine is juicy and full-bodied with softening tannin. Fantastic value.
Not much to say about this one other than it's packed with loads of black fruit, spice, and smokey/meaty notes. With medium tannins, medium-full body, and good acidity to keep everything in check, it's nothing that's going to blow your mind with complexity, but it's the first thing you want to drink when the burgers or ribs come off the bbq. The price can't be beat. Buy a ton for the summer! Tasted June 2014
Susana Balbo's red blend is very purple (teeth staining purple). It's a pleasant sweetish, oaky, fruity wine with very good length. Dark chocolate prevails on the palate. Tannins have some traction. An approachable BBQ wine that should be widely appealing to enthusiasts and 'gulpers' alike. May 2014.
Easy drinking but something about this didn't quite do it for me.
