The 2012 Heinrich Blaufränkisch, sourced from vines up to 25 years old and subsequently aged in oak barrels for over 9 months, has appealing aromas of wood, dates and plums on the nose and black cherry and pomegranate on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; BALANCED with forward acidity, refined tannins and a medium finish. Enjoy with food or by itself; drink now to 2018+. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended for both, quality and value. Tasted in Apr/14 at 'Tasted with Andreas Wickhoff, Austria’s third Master of Wine, at the Fine Wine Reserve.' http://grapeselections.com/grapeselections/wine-reviews/.
