A very exceptional pinot noir - absolutely ethereal in nature. No wonder Norm Hardie is considered to be the pioneer...

Such a distinct wine: as lightly coloured as a Tavel, yet with layers of fruity and earthy aromas, and an absolutely penetrating palate that mirrors the aromas. Ripe, yet pleasantly without any raspberry jam character. Reminds me of the 2009. I give it an extra point simply for being so singular and distinctly County.

Norm hits another home run in 2012! Quintessential PEC Pinot. I can't believe the price on this isn't climbing yet!

Light, almost translucent pretty cherry colour. A little funk to start followed by that now classic PEC minerality. Cran, cherry, red berry fruit with a hint of nutmeg. The 2012 keeps it's vibrancy with tart acidity and tension in the face of a very warm vintage. Excellent to outstanding length. Another fine effort from Norm. Jan. 2015.

The 2012 Norman Hardie County Unfiltered Pinot Noir has attractive aromas of mushrooms and barnyard on the nose and cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, refined tannins and a medium to long finish. It is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink 2016 to 2020 as cellaring will enhance it further (screw cap enclosure). My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89-90 pts. Tasted at 'County in the City' event http://grapeselections.com/county-in-the-city-2014/ in Apr/14.
