When I first opened this wine, myself and my lady were overwhelmed by an aroma that she would describe as "cooked turkey". Whatever this was (first time I've experienced it), it did blow off after 30 mins in decanter(probably h2s). Don't let this dissuade you, the wine as it stands now is exceptional. Hardly a vegetal smell to be found, this wine is so mineral that the presence of chalk actually outweighs the characteristics of the grape...and this is a very good thing! Incredibly potent, massive mid-palate concentration, bone dry with super acidity, this is a force of a wine.
