The 2011 Kacaba Terrace Vineyard Syrah, which spent in French Oak 12 months, has intense aromas of lees, pomegranate, cranberry, black cherry as well as some barnyard notes. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, tight tannins and a medium finish. This is a food friendly wine; drink now – 2018+. My impression: NICE, 89 pts. This wine was featured at both Cuvée Grand Tasting and Cuvée en Route. Tasted Mar/14 at Cuvée en Route http://grapeselections.com/cuvee-2014/

Made from the oldest plantings of Syrah in Niagara, this has medium-high aromatics consisting of barnyard, cracked pepper, smoke, iodine, and some acetone. Medium bodied palate with black pepper, herbs, cassis and hints of chocolate on the medium-length finish. Balanced acids and drying tannins. Tasted Jan/2015.
