More deeply coloured than typical for Barolo. Beautiful scents of ripe red fruits, and flowers. The taste is unmistakebly Nebbiolo, with notes of ripe red fruits, hints of vanilla and finishing with flavours of tart berries, fine acidity, and still firm tannin. The finish lingers beautifully. This wine is aged in small French oak, which I normally avoid in Nebbiolo, but it is so well-integated, that the character of Barolo is not lost. A modern barolo that has not lost touch with its roots. Just a joy to taste. Drink now or hold for anothert 5 years at least. Tasted Dec 2013.
