The 2010 Quinta Do Valdoeiro Bairrada has intense aromas of stems, yeasty black sour cherry and cedar on the nose and cranberry and pomegranate on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, dusty tannins (decant for 30 min) and a medium to long finish. Drink with food; drink now and for the next two years – cork is tapered towards the top and proned to leakage. My impression: quite NICE, 89 pts – recommended for its quality and value. Tasted Nov/13.

Fruity, very dry, with prominenty acidity and smooth finish. Good, medium length. A nice food wine. Suggested pairing: tomato sauce- based dishes and others where you would otherwise go with Chianti Classico. Well done and a good value. Tased April 2014.
