"The 2008 Umberto Fiore Barbaresco, composed in its entirety of Nebbiolo varietal, has subtle notes of anise, cedar, wood and dried sour cherry. It is a light to medium bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine; with forward acidity, notable tannins (decant for 1 hour) and a medium to long finish. Drink with salty/acidic foods or just by itself; drink now – 2016+. My impression: NICE, 88 pts – it’s a quite enjoyable wine, especially for $16.90 – hence recommended for its value. Tasted Nov/13.
