A good California chardonnay, woody and generous but not heavy, leaving the relatively cool mouth. June 2014

The 2012 Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay has intense aromas of limestone minerality, lees, lemon, pineapple and tangerine. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; a bit disconnected with checked acidity and a medium, creamy finish. This is a food wine, but will please on-its-own; drink now – 2017+. My impression: NICE, 88 pts. Tasted Mar/14
