The 2012 Oyster Bay Pinot Noir, sourced from vines aged 3-17 years from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys and then matured in seasoned French Oak for 9 months, has seductive aromas of anise, barnyard, smoke, rosehip and raspberry. It is a light to medium bodied, extra-dry (perceivably dry), fruity wine; with refreshing acidity, subtle tannins and a medium finish. It is a food friendly and sipping wine; drink 2014-2017 (screw cap enclosure). My impression: NICE, 88-89 pts. Tasted in May/14 at 'Tasted during New Zealand in a glass tasting' http://grapeselections.com/new-zealand-fair-2014/.
