This has a very intense, lifted green nose of capers, black currants, meatiness, graphite and some sweet oak vanilla....

The 2011 Ventisquero Grey Single Block Carmenère , aged in French Oak for 18 months, has intense aromas of toasted oak, blackberry, black cherry, vanilla and light eucalyptus. It is a full-bodied, dry, fruity to integrated wine; balanced with good acidity, forward tannins (decant for 30 min), chalky mouthfeel and a long finish. Drink with food or enjoy on its own; drink now – 2018+. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended for its quality and value. Tasted at Wines of Chile 2013 tasting in October/13 - http://grapeselections.com/wines-of-chile-2013/

Lots of toasty oak with undertones of herbal, tomato leaf, blackberry and eucalypt aromas on the nose with very nice aroma replays on the full-bodied palate. Tannins are nice & smooth. Balanced acidity and excellent length on a finish that is a touch hot. Tasted Oct/2013.

This wine was quite intense as it was quite "hot" on the nose, showing quite a bit of alcohol. The flavour profile was full of herbaceous notes and unripe fruits - indicating its cooler climate conditions.

tasted blind at a Beefsteak & Burgundy Club event, November 2014.
