Always a great value, the Vineland Semi-Dry Riesling offers crunchy apple, melon, floral and pear notes on the nose. While off-dry, this Riesling has a tart lemon candy and green apple edge that brings acidity and, as a result, some length while never becoming cloying in the residual sugar department.
Medium-high aromas that show lemon, pear, tropical fruit and hint of petrol. Slight spritz on the off-dry palate with lively acids, lemon, mineral, and touch of honeyed fruit flavours. Finish is lengthy, with sweetness tapering off to a dry finish. Even though designated as "semi-dry", was not as sweet as I expected. Tasted Aug/2014. Score: 88+ pts
From one of Niagara's Riesling pioneers. Typical Riesling aromas flowers and citrus fruit. On the palate, very light-bodied with notes of lemons and hints of tropical fruits in this warm vintage. Acidity is lower than usual for Riesling. A bit simple and short-finishing but a well-made and fairly-priced wine all in all. Not for ageing. Tasted Aug 2014.
