This gamay from Brouilly opens with fresh red berry fruit and floral notes followed by a hint of peppery spice. The mouthfeel edges toward medium body with good acidity and some heat on the lingering finish. Tannins are tame. A good value for a Beaujolais Cru at under $20, but my local LCBO has it marked down to $16. I'm happy to take the last few bottles of their hands. Serve slightly chilled. Oct. 2014.
This is going to be my wine of year.
This is a very pretty wine that provides everything that I hope for from Beaujolais. On the nose, there's a lots of bright red fruit along with some floral and pepper notes. It's medium-light bodied with medium-high acidity and light tannins and quite a long finish. Give it a bit of a chill and try not to finish this bottle quicker than you had planned. Tasted October 2013.
