The 2011 Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel, sourced from Lodi, has intense aromas of red currant and oak on the nose and plum and dates on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with very good, refreshing acidity, refined tannins and a medium to long finish. This is a food friendly wine; drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89-90 pts. Tasted in Apr/14 at 'California Wine Fair' http://grapeselections.com/grapeselections/wine-reviews/.
