Such an incredibly complex bottle of wine! Roasted nuts, caramel, iodine, and a hint of orange peel on the nose. Medium bodied, lovely silky smooth texture, and a well-balanced finish with the lovely acidity intermingling with the sweetness. This wine begs being paired with olives and serrano ham. Tasted November 2012
A fantastic amontillado. Med brown in colour. Full nose and palate with plenty of rancio but also some delicate dried fruit that really ups the complexity. Dry without being astringent. A wine to sip slowly and contemplate life. Excellent value.
Great Value. Aromas of caramel coated apple, toasted almond, lemon, raisin, and green olive. Brine and a hint of clove add to these on the palate. Hint of alcohol heat and a long finish.
Great value in this Amontillado Sherry. A lovely caramel colour and a complex nose that is essentially nutty but with notes of buttery caramel, creme brulee, marmalade, coffee and fig. The palate is viscous, salty with excellent length. Essentially dry but with a vague molasses-like kiss of sweetness. A touch hot on the finish but not overly so. Feb. 2016.
Medium in intensiry on the nose, this is a great dry Sherry for those who want a little less bracing notes than a Fino.
Toasted hazelnut, orange zest, brioche, butterscotch, tobacco and a hint of leather.
Dry with caramel and walnut on the palate, unsweetened orange marmalade, old wood notes linger through the medium+ finish.
Amazing value.
