Once again Casa-Dea emerges as a solid, good value, balanced pinot with good cherry/raspberry/blackcurrant ripeness,...

At first it had a slightly raw taste, but it really grew on me. It started at 88 and ended at 90, so I will take the average. Excellent value for twenty dollars. Bought at the winery.

The 2010 Casa Dea Pinot Noir, aged in French Oak barrels for 15 months, has attractive notes of lees, raspberry, sour cherry and subtle smoked meat on the nose and raspberry, oak and sour cherry on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with refreshing/good acidity, refined yet dusty tannins and a medium to long finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own or drink with food; drink now 2018 (cork enclosure). My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89 pts – recommended for its value - this wine over-delivers for the price. Tasted at 'County in the City' event http://grapeselections.com/county-in-the-city-2014/ in Apr/14.
