The 2010 Mayor de Castilla Crianza, Ribera Del Duero, aged in oak for 12 months, has attractive aromas of pine, red currant, blueberry and blackberry on the nose and pomegranate, red currant, blueberry and dates on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with crisp acidity, dusty tannins (decant for 15-30 min) and a medium to long finish. It is both, food friendly and a sipping wine; drink for the next 5+ years (cork enclosure). My impression: NICE, 88-89 pts – recommended for its value. Tasted in Jan/15.
