This is an incredibly friendly introduction to ripasso method wines. Lots of ripe, rich black fruit and chocolate notes due to the adding of the leftover skins from Amarone production along with nice acidity and a hint of savory notes characteristic of Valpolicella production. On the palate, it's medium-full bodied with medium tannins and acidity and quite a lengthy finish. This isn't a stunner, but it's quite nice, especially at this price. Tasted April 2014
