Nice nose with aromas of violets and blueberries. Generous puck fruit with soft tannins. Alcohol is not quite in...

This blend of syrah and garnacha has sticker-posted score of 89 from Stephen Tanzer. I don't feel it has the depth...

This has matured nicely since I first tasted in August 2013 or maybe this batch is different. Anyway I like it much...

A bargain at $10. Not big on the nose, but nice flavour with hints of fig and plum and a slightly dry finish.

I don't get the port-like flavours in this wine that ST and DL allude to (bottle variation?). This is indeed a very ripe wine, but with good balance of flavours. More complexity and structure than one usually finds in such an inexpensive wine. It does have a hint of sweetness, but nothing like an overripe Aussie Shiraz can be. A very nice wine, and a stellar value. Tasted Nov 2013.

There's nothing really special about this ripe Spanish red other than its price, but the price makes it an excellent value; it's certainly overbaked, but the nose is quite pleasant, with notes of dried and baked fruit along with tangy blueberry and hints of leather and spice; it's less pleasant in the mouth, where the lack of depth comes through and the raisin/prune jamminess gives way to the bitter, drying tannins that come on fast and furious, but while the parts don't really hold together, and while it fades into a certain flatness not long after opening, it's hard to argue with the QPR.
