While a fair bit of oak comes through on the nose of the Church & State Merlot in the form of vanilla and spice notes, there's also lots of white pepper, plum, blueberry and milk chocolate notes to go around. This full-bodied Merlot retains that balance on the palate, with plum, raspberry and black tea notes countering the smoky vanilla from time in barrels.
