Rustic cherry flavours. Very nice with eggplant parmagean, pasta with red sauce.
Black cherry, blackcurrant, spices, cigars, and dustiness on the nose. It is medium-to-full bodied and has a lingering dried-fruit aftertaste.
Classic Puglian Negroamaro. Slightly sweet and savory, but well integrated with dates and dry fig aromas. Leathery, viscous and full bodied and Typically Italian. Good stuff at a great value...still going strong
Yet again, Taurino has produced a slightly rustic red that is brimming with character. Ripe red fruit, along with dried fruit, earth and slightly sour/bitter finish. Approachable and unique. This is one of those wines that will be take it or leave it for most. I will take it, thank you very much! Tasted Aug 2013.
Love the funk and old world charm on the nose, screams of Italy. Still has enough fruit power to hold up the sturdy tannin and acidity. Lovely finish and length, you could still hold this well priced wine for at least 2 more years. I enjoyed on its own, but most Italian fare with red sauce or cured meats would work. Extra point on this wine for the value. Tasted Sept '13
Nose offers spicy cherry, earthy barnyard (brett), tobacco leaf, wet mustiness, cedar cigar box but with sweet vanilla herbal notes. Light bodied but structured, with real dusty tannins, the palate is gamey and leaves a sour finish. Pretty cool wine.
Blend of 80% Negromaro and 20% Malvasia Nera. Plum, cherry and slight prune aromas from the cork. Medium nose with cherry, black fruits, graphite and pronounced horse/barnyard as it warmed up in the glass. Medium+ bodied with smooth palate and red cherry, earth and spice notes. Has fresh acidity along with jucy, crunchy and firm tannins. Smooth, medium-long finish with hints of cocoa. Could be aged another 1-2 years, but drinking great now. Delicious. Tasted Mar/2014.
