The 2010 Le Ferme Du Mont Gigondas Côte Jugunda, composed of 80% Grenache that is 60 year old, and 20% Syrah, has intense aromas of black cherry liquor, raspberry, vanilla and pine. It is a medium bodied, extra dry, fruity wine; it is nicely balanced with good acidity, refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and a long, smooth and silky finish. It is food friendly, but rather drink it on its own; drink now – 2025. My impression: BEAUTIFUL to DIVINE, 93-94 pts – recommended buy based on both, quality and value. Tasted twice, once at La Ferme Du Mont luncheon hosted by Stéphane Vedeau http://grapeselections.com/ferme-du-mont/ in July/13 and again in Dec/13.

Blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Medium-intensity aromas of ripe red fruits and red currants that are clear and focused. Medium-full bodied with currant, spice and cedar flavours on the palate. Smooth, velvety tannins and a medium-long finish. Would pair nicely with seasoned poultry. Tasted July/2013.
