Pale gold in the glass, the oak ageing of this one is instantly recognizable. The nose is quite intense, white notes of papaya, mango, clementine, peach, a hint of fresh cut grass and green pea, and minerality. It's dry and medium bodied with medium+ acid and intensity and a creamy mouthfeel. The flavours replay on the palate with the ripe tropical fruit at the forefront along with a bit of honey and spice. This is not only a seriously good value, but also an excellent example of what barrel ageing can do for sauvignon blanc. Tasted January 2014
