On the weekend, our family dined on venison steaks, and had the 2004 Ortas Rasteau with it. It was wonderful!
liquorice, wood, serious pepper and spice
A dark red wine with lots of ripe berry fruit on the nose and even a little dried fruit - think fig. It has just the right amount of chalky texture to wrap around the silky texture of rare beef. A little cocoa along with some warm spice rounds off the finish nicely.
