This wine has a very clean cherry taste that grows over time. It reminds me of Napa Valley rather than Chianti, so I suppose it does not express its sense of place very well. But I value taste over terroir, and this is wonderful, so I give it a strong 90. Amazing value for the price.

Really well made Chianti, with excellent red cherry fruit, deft touch of wood, and refreshing acidity. As JS notes, very Tuscan character. If you enjoy Chianti with minimal manipulation, this is it. Best served with a slight chill (17C would be about ideal). tasted May 2013.
