Golden straw coloured off-dry chenin blanc from the Vouvray appellation in the Loire valley. Mineral notes along with honey, peach, pear and lime. Lovely soft, round medium bodied mouthfeel. Sweet mid palate that carries through to a lingering finish that's integrated well with some alcohol heat. A nice complex wine that would pair well with a variety of cheeses, seafood and poultry. It also has the substance to lay down for a couple of years. But why wait? Grip it n' sip it! August 2013.
This wine opened up with aromas of peaches, apple, citrus fruit, minerals and light floral notes. On the mouthfeel, medium bodied, off-dry with a mouth coating sweetness of ripe tree fruit and honey but well match by lively acidity. This Vouvray’s finish is long, with a beautiful rich honeyed texture and light mineral notes. Well made wine, very enjoyable and a superb value. Strongly recommended.
I do not particularly like the bouquet, so I choose to drink it from a tall, thin champaign flute. But I really like the honey and fruit taste described by the other reviewers. It also improves as I keep drinking it. Very nice.
