Lemon zest, floral, bell pepper and celery salt aromas are complex on the nose of this South African Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp green apple, grapefruit, lemon candy and hints of peach/tropical notes are presented with light acidity, making this a racy, stylish example of the grape for the price.
The 2012 Nederburg Winemaster’s Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from 13 to 32 year old vines, has appealing aromas of lees, lemon/lime and gooseberry. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine; with good acidity and a mineral finish of medium length. Drink with food; drink now – 2016. My impression: NICE, 88 pts – well worth the $11.45. Tasted Dec/13.

Screw cap. Medium-high intense aromas which are complex featuring an intriguing mix of lemon peel, herbal, gooseberry, asparagus, and hints of butter. Medium bodied with a slightly oily viscosity, and crisp, mouthwatering acids on the palate. Pleasant lime and gooseberry flavours with hints of melon on the medium-long finish. Nicely balanced throughout. Recommended buy. Tasted Jan/2014.
