Medium+ bright ruby in colour with a medium+ intense nose.
Full flavoured wine but one-dimensional. However, you can’t argue with the sale price either.
Positives: Oak and pine mix with blackcurrants, menthol, blackberry, arugula and tobacco leaves. Medium+ body with good acidity and a fairly long length.
Negatives: None
Drink now or over the next 2 years on its own or pair it with beef Wellington.

Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine: 3.5+
The 2010 Santa Rita Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva has intense aromas of blackcurrant, eucalyptus and vanilla. It is a medium to full bodied, dry, fruity wine; with checked acidity, subtle to refined tannins (decant for 15 min) and a medium to long finish. It is food friendly, though may be overpowering; drink now – 2015+. My impression: NICE, 88 pts –it is so fruity, it gives the impression that unfermented black currant/blackberry juice was added to the wine. Tasted Dec/13.

Dry, oaky, sappy and bright with a bite. The finish is a bit flat. Nice sipping wine for the price.
