This is exactly what made me fall in love with Rhone reds years ago. Nice and ripe aromas of dark plum/prune, blackberry, chocolate, licorice, and the typical garrigue/earthy notes of the region. Medium-bodied, it has nice acidity to keep it fresh with good tannic structure. Excellent length on the finish. Big fruit, a bit of earthiness, and a very attractive price. I'll definitely buy more of this. Tasted April 2013.
Excellent value. Some alcohol heat on finish is the only drawback.
sweet scents of brown sugar, violets, black pepper, herbs and spice. Nice creamy body with structured dry tannins. Plenty of rocky minerals to satisfy. Finishes a tad short and sharp.
A very ripe but balanced CdR, loaded with herbs and note of black pepper supporting the ripe fruit. A bit rustic, but plenty of charm. I note some heat on the finish. An easy wine to enjoy short-term at a fine price. Tasted March 2013.
