Really liked the first bottle I had. Did not taste the Dutch dropje but will try to taste for it next bottle. On the buy again list at the moment.
Talk about a good everyday drinking wine. It is fresh, smooth, and fruity. Nothing about this great valued wine will make a person put his wine glass down. It is great for parties in that it will go with appetizers, meats, fishes, and even chocolate. I like this wine.
Translucent cherry colour. Lighter bodied and smooth. Starts out fruity on the palate then a tug of war between sweet and salty ensues. It's like sucking on a cherry cough drop and a Dutch dropje (black licorice candy) at the same time. A bit dusty and some bitterness and alcohol on the short to medium length finish. Wouldn't offend as a party red, but nothing revolutionary.
This deep purply red wine smells of berry jam, vanilla and spice. This lip-smacking Californian blend is super juicy and reminiscent of a zinfandel. Very low tannins and flavours of plum, ripe cherry, raspberry, blackberry, vanilla and sweet spice, with a medium-long finish. Nothing overly complex here, just easy drinking.
Nice enough nose and colour. Simple crisp starting smooth and ending sour surprisingly fun
