This is a sensational Niagara Pinot! Loads of crème fraiche, sweet maraschino cherries, ripe strawberries and smoky raspberries, with slight earthly undertones. It has extraordinary breadth and depth to the palate, with a long caressing finish. It’s truly one of the most delightful and delicious Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted.
This wine has matured beautifully - tasted blind, I would have difficulty placing it in Niagara, as it strikes me as a marriage of California-style richness and old world elegance. In any case, it is velvety, smooth, and compelling, and will surely drink well for several more years. Alas, this was my only bottle.
I served this lovely Pinot for guests at a dinner party (mushroom bisque and vegetarian paella...thanks for asking). General impressions are that it has wonderful complexity with cherry and berry fruit, judiciously integrated oak and overall good balance. It approaches mid weight on the mouthfeel and has a lengthy finish. It sipped nicely before dinner and accompanied the food very well. This Pinot is drinking exceedingly well now so if you have some on hand, grip it n' sip it! 92-93. Oct. 2013.
The 2009 Rosewood Estates Pinot Noir Reserve, aged in seasoned French Oak barrels for 10 months, is a medium bodied, integrated wine, with bold aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, dark chocolate, oak, clove and smoked meat notes. It has refined tannins (decant for 30+ min) and a medium finish. Enjoy this wine by itself; drink now or for the next 5+ years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts – recommended buy though at $40. Tasted Oct/12.

Made in an old-world style with intense aromas of smoke, red fruits, earth and cedar. Light-to-medium bodied and bright acidity with ripe red fruits, sour red cherries and beet root on the palate. Has grippy tannins and a short finish. My kind of Pinot! Tasted Oct/2012.
