Notes here are from the 2009 vintage. Picked this up on ST rec from past vintages. Holy opaque, Batman! This has to be one of the darkest wines (colour, that is) that I have ever seen! A smooth, ripe LBV, with sweet dried black fruit flavours, prune and raisins. While obviously sweet, it is never cloying. Reasonably complex, and the finish is merely good, but I would not have expected anything more for a modestly priced LBV. Very good value at $16.95, stellar on sale at $14.95. Amazing how good some of these LBVs are at well under $20. Tasted Jan 2015.
