A surprisingly (for me) poised baco here from Sandbanks. Nice nose of blackcurrent, mocha and a hint of earthy spice. Very nice mouth feel and great balance on a palate of ripe blackberry followed by sour cherry and plum finish. Despite the sour core, the is a subtle sweetness that runs through and some smokey complexity from the oak aging. Makes for an enjoyable and easy drinking red. Nice to see this quality from Sandbanks.
This P.E. County Baco is a ruby colour. Blackberry, cherry, raspberry, chocolate and oak. Sweet and sour with good acidity. Very ripe jammy fruit. Decent length. Tannins play hide and seek. But the value of this Baco can't be hidden when discounted $3.00 at my local LCBO. Grip it n' sip it!. July 2013.
